Garlic Basil Tomato Sauce

While I also love a good meat sauce, or marinara, or alfredo. This simple tomato sauce is fantastic served over any kind of pasta you have on hand. (My original plan was over spaghetti but as you see in the photo I had run out and instead used half rotini half farfelle.)
Garlic Basil Tomato sauce
6-9 Cloves of garlic, minced
Olive oil
2-4 Tbs Butter
Large can of Crushed Tomatoes
1 Cup fresh Basil, chopped
Salt/pepper/oregano to taste
Simmer the garlic, covered, on low in enough olive oil to cover it (this will depend on the size saucepan you use) for around 30 minutes.
Add the butter to the sauce pan (I say 2-4T since some may want it healthier than others, but the richness in this dish comes from having both butter and olive oil) and let it melt.
Add tomatoes, and seasonings and stir together. Simmer another 5-10 minutes. Stir in chopped basil and heat another mintute before serving over pasta.
Tip: Make it look fancy and use a couple leaves of basil as garnish.
Happy Cooking!
